Look for the 17′ high prism on the playa housing the VIXToscope, providing an oasis of cooling shade during the day and thousands of LEDs dancing in the night. Remember what the dormouse said, then step inside to melt your mind.
For Burning Man 2024, we’re bringing a giant mind-melting kaleidoscope with trippy interactive video and soundscapes, VIXToscope II – Infinite Recursion out to the deep playa. It builds on the learnings and success of the original VIXToscope I – Gateway from Burning Man 2023, which will also make a return trip in our camp, Airstreameri & What Not.
We’re looking for volunteers to help bring this project to life:
– Leave No Trace Lead / Moop Master
– Setup help a couple days before the burn on a Work Access Pass
– Teardown help / demooping a day or two after the burn
– (Possibly) Drive a UHaul box truck to/from the burn, need to show up early/stay late
– Pre-Burn: a large clear space (25’x40′ with 20′ height clearance) to practice the setup/teardown before we hit playa
– Pre-Burn: help doing the trial setup
